Global prevention plan, what are your obligations?
From 1 employee onwards legally required
As soon as one person is employed in your organization, you fall under the law welfare and are obliged to draw up a global prevention plan
For the next five years
You are legally obliged to draw up a global prevention plan and an annual action plan. It must clarify your prevention measures for the next five years.
The overall prevention plan must contain at least the following three elements:
- $A method for prioritizing the measures to be taken
- $The means and methods of implementing the measures
- $The tasks and obligations of all persons involved
Benefits of a global prevention plan
- NMapping the risks in a structural manner allows you to discover potential risks that have not been recognized
- NPrioritizing allows you to optimize the use of prevention resources
- NThe document offers a clear overview and a foothold for companies that do not deal with prevention on a daily basis
- NIt is an excellent tool for communicating working points to all parties involved
Dynamic risk management system and annual action plan
Every company is constantly evolving, so that its activities and therefore its risks are constantly changing. A global prevention plan is therefore a dynamic document that you must constantly – or at least periodically – update. In this sense, a global prevention plan is a concrete expression of the so-called “dynamic risk management system”.
Once your overall prevention plan has been properly drawn up, it is easy to use it as a basis for preparing the equally compulsory annual action plan. This annual action plan contains the preventive measures for the current or coming year.
